…The silence in his apartment wasn't empty; it was pregnant with the echoes of his transgressions. He confessed them to the indifferent walls, to the shadows that writhed in the corners of his vision. The words, raw and ragged, spilled out – a litany of his own depravity, a desperate plea for a redemption he knew he didn’t deserve. The city, once his playground, a vast expanse of possibility, now felt like a cage, its dazzling lights a cruel counterpoint to the darkness that had consumed him from within. He was trapped, not by bars of steel, but by the unyielding confines of his own mind, his own actions. The silence was the loudest sound, and it screamed his guilt back at him.
