…"We will, sweetie. We will do everything we can to find your brother and your friend." She stroked Luna's damp hair, a calming gesture that did little to quell the girl's anxiety. "First, let's get you warm and something to eat. Then, you can tell us more about what happened, and we'll send out a search party." Luna’s gaze fixed on the man. “You promise?” she whispered, her voice barely audible above the crackling fire. He nodded slowly, his silence more powerful than any spoken assurance. “He’s Alpha Thorne,” the woman supplied gently. “And I’m Luna Thorne. You’re safe with us, child.”
