…The city lights outside continued to twinkle, indifferent to my internal turmoil. They shone on, promising a new day, new possibilities, but for me, at that moment, the future felt less like an open road and more like a cul-de-sac. The idealism I had carried for so long, that bright, unwavering flame, had finally flickered and died, leaving behind only the faint, acrid smell of smoke.
