…Outside, the city’s noise returned, but felt distant, as if muffled by the veil Eryon described. Luka unfolded the paper. A symbol was drawn in hurried ink: the same crescent and flame Mira had touched. Beneath, a single word—"Choose." As they stepped into the street, Luka felt the air grow lighter, yet the world pressed closer, woven with threads invisible to all but them. Mira slipped her hand into his. “We can’t go back, can we?” she whispered. He shook his head, feeling the weight of the bell in his palm. Somewhere, two kingdoms watched and waited. A warm wind carried the chimes of the city, mingling with a far-off, secret note—a sound only Luka and Mira seemed able to hear.
